Sinziana Velicescu - Los Angeles

Sinziana Velicesu is a 24yr old  Los Angeles based photographer, whose work explores human intervention with nature in landscapes that have undergone political, social, or environmental change.

Coming across her brilliantly composed images from her Los Angeles project proved a fresh view of the city where so many dreams are made and broken. Shot on a Mamiya 6, they explore the human effect on the city, without showing many physical human beings. Just the traces they leave. For a city that is the epitome of America, the images portray a loneliness. Singular cars, an abandoned shopping trolley, and empty seats. Where is the excitement that the city portrays to many across the world?

This is another view on the city and a personal one, from a photographer who calls Los Angeles home. It gives the images a personal feel.
